Having heard about Wynny, a woman on the other side of Australia has given me permission to share the story of her own ex-racer who died as a result of doping by his trainers. He had severe psychological problems when he was rescued (on the way to being euthanised) and these took months to resolve, but as with Wynny there were some shining moments in the last months of his life, and like her, he died surrounded by love.
Countless thousands don’t.
