The Greyhound racing industry in Australia is responsible for many thousands of Greyhound deaths every year. This is the personal story of one of those poor dogs, but at least this one had a precious few weeks of normal life at the end.
Racing greyhounds are often given the cheapest, very low quality food, on the basis that if they have the genes to be successful racers, they do not require assistance from their diet. There is no place for treats, so this was another new experience.
